First Annual Think Local
Wellness Fair
POSTPONED
October 11th
1:00 pm to 5:00 pm
Hello friends!
It seems that Hanna received an invitation to our First Think Local Health & Wellness Fair. The rain and winds were supposed to pick up right around noon time on September 6th. We had agonized over the delay and hoping the storm would continue to wobble around in the ocean a little longer. Though I am sure the people who live in that area were happy to see her go.
We postponed until October 11th. On the bright side we have picked up several more participants along the way since we first set this up including local growers and a local grass fed beef provider. There has also been quite a bit of interest in the event from our patrons to the newspapers.
So Ocotber 11th from 1:00 to 5:00, hope you can all be there!

When asked to name our favorite restaurant, cafe, or shop, we almost always cite a unique local business (look at the results in any "Best of" polls as proof). We embrace the idea of distinctive businesses with local character, but often forget their survival depends on our patronage. It is easy for us to get so consumed by efficiency that we forget how much of our lives we spend eating out, shopping, and doing other business. We owe it to ourselves to consider the quality of our experience, and ask if we benefit when we choose a community-based business.
Local owners with much of their life savings invested in their businesses have a natural interest in the long-term health of the community. Community-based businesses are essential to charitable endeavors, frequently serving on local boards, and supporting a variety of causes.
Saturday, October 11th we will be hosting local wellness practitioners, famers, growers and local producers of delicious foods. We invite you to join in the opportunity to meet these business owners, learn more about them and their services or goods and support your local community. There will be food samples, demonstrations, a free pony ride and a kids kraft table.
