Construction Week 3

Sat Jan 27, 2007 10:37PM

Today is January 27, 2007, a cold overcast Saturday morning.

The guys who built our foundation are gathering up their forms and preparing to finish up here. This week the foundation was poured and we have finalized some exciting details. The final measurements have been taken and we are ordering our refrigeration units and shelving. We have begun to select the products to put on those shelves and into those refrigeration units. You can look forward to many familiar favorites and some new products that we have put a lot of time into researching and re-sourcing.

I have been taking road trips to visit our providers and meeting real people. We will be visiting several other local distributors, one in particular we are excited about that provides humanely raised meats from Northeast Family Farms.

Here is the footing before the foundation has been poured, finally something concrete!

This is where the new wall will join with the old wall, wait you'll see the finished foundation below....

The ground wasn't frozen yet and was soft and wet, if you look closely you can see the front tire of the cement truck sinking!
