A Really Great Week

Thursday The Wall Went Up

We started this week with a holiday and bone chilling cold weather on Monday. No work. Then Tuesday the sun came out and it was as if spring was in the air, nearly 50 degrees. You can see some of the guys outside in just shirts, perfect weather for construction. The only problem there was the mud, as everything softened up it became really bad. So the vents went into the foundation, quickly and much easier than I would have guessed. They used a big rotary saw, with a special blade. Then Matt from Northeast Concrete installed the vents with his guys. As all of this was taking place Butch, our foreman, had the guys framing out the walls. With the frame laying down on the floor it was hard to get perspective, and I need to tell you the pictures really do not do it justice. Thursday we raised the walls up, I actually had the opportunity to help, a little, in getting the walls erected.

This last picture is inside what will be our Health and Beauty Aids Department, the original two story structure you have seen in many other pictures. You can see down to the street and out to the Sakonnet River from here, beautiful view.
