This year The Green Grocer is proud to provide Ekonk turkeys from Sterling CT. These birds are pasture raised with no growth hormones or antibiotics, on a small family farm and have been a favorite over the past two years. Tasting is believing!
Of course we will also be providing organic turkeys. Grown in the hills of sunny California where they have year round access to outdoors and sunshine. Grateful Harvest turkeys are processed in a a small family operated plant where the birds are harvested at a slower rate than at larger plants. This allows for more time and care with the handeling of each turkey.
The organic turkeys are deep chilled prior to shipping from the processor. The turkeys are chilled down to about 28 degrees to create an icy crust on the birds. This ensures that you will receive a fresh, wholesome turkey for your special holiday meal. Meats do not freeze until they reach a temperature of 26 degrees.
We also have a natural, hormone free, antibiotic free pasture raised turkeys from Vermont available. Stonewood Farm, plenty of fresh Vermont air, cool nights, green pastures, good feed, TLC, and grown on a family farm. It's located in the Champlain Valley of Vermont, in the town of Orwell.
The organic and the natural varieties are a limited quantity, so be sure to sign up early!
