I was having a conversation with Dr. Craig Pruitt last month prior to our opening. The subject of my concern over whether people would remember us, or have the patience to wait for us to get open came up. Often times during the construction process we wouldn't see anyone for months, being so immersed in our own world. What if we opened and people had already forgotten or moved on? Craig smiled his "don't be ridiculous smile" and said to me, "Build it and they will come. The community needs this and they are waiting for you guys to finish up and open." I just need to go on the record and say he couldn't have been more right.
This past week since May 31st at 3:00 has been nothing short of amazing for us all. The response we have recieved has been supportive and positive. Comments like, "I've been waiting for you guys to open." or "This is such a beautiful store, you guys did such a great job." When people walk through the door for the first time they look up and around and are amazed, "It's so much bigger than I thought!" and then at the check out we hear, "I won't have to be going to Providence as often any more."
Thank-you to all of you who have come, to those of who who have sent your friends and family and to those of who have been so excited for us. We cannot say thank-you enough for such an amazing start and look forward to a long relationship of serving you!
