Wow! Our customers are really amazing!

Thanksgiving is just about two weeks away at this point, and we have much to be thankful for. We wanted to let you know how grateful we are for having such amazing customers. It was four weeks ago that we sent out an email entitled “Challenging Times”, that with your weekly support and word of mouth we would be able to weather the economy.

In those four weeks we have received nearly 40 email responses, our average daily customer count shot up nearly 20% and we were given so many words of encouragement we lost track after the first week. I wanted to share with you some of those comments, say a heart felt thank-you from all of us and wish you and yours a very Happy Thanksgiving!

-Thanks for your note.  I love shopping at the Green Grocer!  I'll try to do my part!

-I'm with you guys and I am forwarding this to all I know!

 - I received your email and I am deeply touched by, your store is a something that Portsmouth has sorely needed for a long time and I wish you the best.  Sadly that is all I can do to help at the present time since I am away at school.  When I do come home I will do what I can to help, I do love to shop at your store.  Again I hope things go well and I wish you and your staff the best.

-Man - after that I'm really gonna bring it!

-Thanks for the updates. I will definitely try to evangelize more frequently. Please don't hesitate to reach out if you are in trouble. It would be a shame to lose such a great community asset. Thanks for your hard work!

-I love you guys, and the store has met pretty much all of my needs during my time in Rhode Island.  When I come back, I’ll be ordering some cases, and you can count on me to keep making about $50/week in purchases during the weeks that I’m there versus in NYC.  Thanks for everything! Especially the Ibores goat cheese. mmmm!

-Wow! Thank you so much for this update, I have found myself wondering how you were doing but did not feel close enough to you to ask as it seems kind of personal in nature. It does not sounds like you are asking for a commitment per se but rather providing the information. Thank you for that. We will do what we can to continue our support of local businesses, like yours.

-Dear friends at Green GrocerAbsolutely!!

-It took guts to write this, but we, your customers, need a reminder about sustaining a small business around here in bad economic times. Thanks for the reminder. See you Saturday!

-I not only tell everyone where I get my items, but lately I have been shopping with you for the bulk of my groceries and then picking up things you don't sell at other stores. I am really proud of your commitment to the island.

-We lost our natural foods store in Bristol, I won’t let the same thing happen to you guys!

- Wow, something that simple? It really makes me think of how important my shopping is to local businesses. And I am a local business owner! Thanks for the wake up call.
