Simmons Farm is a 130 acre farm that provides eggs, meats, cheese and vegetables to local consumers through farmers markets, restaurants, small groceries, and Community Supported Agriculture. This land first settled in Newport in 1639 as a four hundred acre allotment to John Cogshell. The farm is rounded out with a petting zoo home to different breeds of sheep, duck, goats, geese, borrows and ponies.
Manic Organic is a ten acre market garden that provides organic specialty produce to local consumers through farmers markets, restaurants, small groceries, and subscription vegetable shares. Started in Portsmouth in 1999 Manic Organic relocated its base of operations to Tiverton in 2006. Although the farm location is different, all market locations and CSA sites will remain the same with additions.
It is with a sad and heavy heart that we add that Nicole will not be farming for the 2008 season. Financial difficulties that many farmers face have forced Manic Organic to suspend its business operations for the next year or more.
